What an unscientific question ! Whether the statement is true or false depends on what "huge" and "tiny" mean to you, and that could be different things to different people. Most people feel that this statement is true.

True, nuclear reactions, whether they are fission or fusion depend on generating energy by converting a certain amount of mass by breaking the atom or combining two atoms together.
