What crisis did Dwight Eisenhower use the Eisenhower Doctrine to justify a military response to a communist threat?

He used the Eisenhower Doctrine as a response to the Suez Crisis. The pressure of the USSR to leave the area was too great and Eisenhower implied that the USSR is to powerful and has a big influence on the world and that the United States have to stop them from spreading their influence and the communist threat.
