In most medical procedures, hazardous waste is produced. This waste is usually burned, which can release chemicals like lead into the air.

How could technology be best used to solve this problem?

A. Reduce the number of medical procedures performed.
B. Incinerate the waste in areas with low population.
C. Store the waste underground instead of burning it.
D. Find a way to burn the waste without releasing chemicals.

Answer:

D. Find a way to burn the waste without releasing chemicals.

Step-by-step explanation:

All others do not work as they as one cannot reduce necessary medical procedures; incinerating it is burning it; and storing the waste underground is now harming ground water.

I think the answer would be D. The best technology to be used should be finding a way to burn the waste without releasing chemicals. It could be that the gases produced are passed thru filters to filter out the hazardous substances or other ways eliminating the hazardous chemicals.
