the distance formula

the distance between (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is

D= √((x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2)
so
distnace between (5.7,2.6) and (-3,5.9) is

D= √((-3-5.7)^2+(5.9-2.6)^2)

D= √((-8.7)^2+(3.3)^2)

D= √(75.69+10.89)

D= √(86.58)

the distance from Q to R is √86.58 or aprox 9.3048374515624935767985185932756 units
