Given a function
f(x), we can solve for
f^(-1)(y) for some
y by solving for
x in the equation
f(x)=y.

I'm not sure whether your function
f(x) is
2x-(7)/(3) or
(2x-7)/(3), so I'll solve it separately for each.

In the first case, we have
2x-(7)/(3)=3, so adding
(7)/(3) to both sides,
2x=(16)/(3). Dividing by two gives
x=(8)/(3).

In the second, we have
(2x-7)/(3)=3, so multiplying by three gives
2x-7=9, and adding seven gives
2x=16. Dividing by two gives
x=8.
