4.55 ·
10^(13) - 1.78 ·
10^(12)

First let's make
10^(13) the same as
10^(12). We can do this by multiplying 4.55 x 10, and dividing
10^(13) by 10.

Now we have:

45.5 ·
10^(12) - 1.78 ·
10^(12)

Now let's subtract 1.78 from 45.5

45.5 - 1.78 = 43.72

Now we have:

43.72 ·
10^(12)

But, since the 43.72 has to be in between 1 and 10, we have to divide 43.72 by 100, and multiply
10^(12) by 100.

The answer is:

4.372 ·
10^(13)

Hopefully this helps! If you have any more questions or don't understand, feel free to DM me, and I'll get back to you ASAP! :)
