What is the equation of the line that is parallel to the line y = x + 4 and passes through the point (6, 5)?

y = x + 3
y = x + 7
y = 3x – 13
y = 3x + 5

Answer: B). y= -1/3x + 7

Explanation:

y = mx+b

y = -1/3x + 4 plug in (6,5)

5 = -1/3(6) + 4 multiply -1/3 by 6

5 = -2 + 4 add 2 on both sides

7 = 4 or 7 = b

so the equation would be y = -1/3x + 7

sorry if is wrong

The answer might be A or B, simply because the slopes have to be identical.
