Answer:

At one beginning, it was called "Colombia" in honor of Cristobal Colon, but this was a name to refer to some piece of land that included lands of La Nueva Granada, Quito y la Capitanía General de Venezuela., more than the name of a country. In 1830, whit the country kinda already formed, it was called República de la Nueva Granada, a few years later, in 1863 it was called Estados Unidos de Colombia.
