Why is pop music such a popular genre of music? What makes it so popular?

Music videos became a popular visual accompaniment during the 1980s. What effect do you think music videos have had on pop music? What are the pros and cons of creating a music video for an artist?

Answer:

I think videos had a big impact because the artist not only sings what he/she wants to say but puts it in a short clip to made a visual image. I think that the biggest con of making music videos is the cost of making a video can be rather expensive. Another con is that it will loose its popularity after they hear and see it so many times. I do think that music itself changed as a result of videos being made because it can make the music more relatable. Also, I think it could give the music a more down tone, or make the music almost downgraded. For example, some of Katy Perry's music is really good, but in addition some of her music videos make her song not as good because the music video wasn't as good as the music so it almost downgrades the music.

Pop music makes up the largest part of consumed music today. Pop music is a genre which was derived from rock and roll in the western world around the 1950s. I believe that music videos changed the way we appreciate music in many diversified ways. the pros of creating a music video are that it's a good way to show off an artist's image. Not only does it give the viewer a better experience of the song, it gets the artist more popularity and money. The cons are even though music videos show the viewer the meaning of the video, they could be misleading . They could mean one thing, but look something different that gives them a bad image. Music videos involve a lot of hard work to get right and can sometimes be more expensive than they look.
