The perimeter for a rectangle (garden) is 2L + 2W.
We have our width, 6.
Plug 6 in for W.

2L + 2(6) = 28
2L + 12 = 28
Subtract 12 from both sides
12 - 12 = 0
28 - 12 = 16.

We're now left with:
2L = 16

Divide both sides by 2 to solve for L.

2L / 2 = L
16 / 2 = 8.

L = 8 (The length is 8).

Now that we have our length, let's solve for the area.

The area of a rectangle is L x W.

8 x 6 = 48.

The area is 48 ft^2.

I hope this helps!

6x6= 12
28ft-12ft=16ft
16/2=8
the length is 8 ft.
lxw=a
8x6=48
The pond is
48ft^(2).
