y=mx+b
m=slope
b=y intercept

find the slope first
the sloep of the line that passes throught the 2 points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is
(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
so the points (2,11) and (4,17)
(17-11)/(4-2)=6/2=3
slope is 3

y=3x+b
find b
subsitute a point
(2,11)
(x,y)
subsitute 2 for x and 11 for y
11=3(2)+b
11=6+b
minus 6 both sides
5=b

y=3x+5 is the equation

slope = (17 - 11)/(4-2) = 6/2 = 3

y = mx + b
11 = 3(2) + b
11 = 6 + b
b = 5

equation
y =3x + 5

answer
d. y = 3x + 5
