Start of by setting up the slope formula:

(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1) =slope

We are given 2 coordinates and the slope
(-6,w)(-10,4)
slope:1/8

Label your coordinates:
(-6,w) and (-10,4)
x1,y1 x2-y2

Put these numbers into the formula

(4-w)/(-10-(-6)) = (1)/(8)

Simplify the current info given:

(4-w)/(-4) = (1)/(8)

Now you would be able to guess and check,

Final answer: w=9/2
