an=a1(r)^(n-1)
a1=first term
an=nth term
r=common ratio
n=which term

each term is 3 times the previous
seems to be a geoemetric sequence
common ratio is 3
first term is 1

so
an=1(3)^(n-1)
the next term can be found by doing
f(n+1)=3f(n)

27/3=9/3=3/3=1
r=3
a1*(3)^(n-1)
a1=1
3^(n-1)
