A country's population in 1993 was 72 million. In 1996 it was 76 million. Estimate the population in 2003 using the exponential growth formula. Round your answer to the nearest million?

Hi there
First find the rate of growth
The formula is
P=Ae^kt
P 76 million
A 72 million
E constant
K ?
T 1,996−1,993=3 years
We need to solve for k
K=[log (p/A)÷log (e)]÷t
K=(log(76÷72)÷log(e))÷3
K=0.018

Now find the population in 2003
P=Ae^kt
P ?
A 72 million
K 0.018
T 2,003−1,993=10 years
So
P=72×e^(0.018×10)
P=86 million

Hope it helps
