Hi there
First find the growth rate
P=Ae^kt
P 76 million
A 72 million
K ?
T time1,998−1,992=6 years
We need to solve for k
K=(log (p/A)÷log (e))÷t
So
K=(log(76÷72)÷log(e))÷6
K=0.009

Now find population in 2012
P=Ae^kt
Where
P ?
A 72 million
K 0.009
T 2,012−1,992=20 years
So
P=72×e^(0.009×20)
P=86.2 million round your answer to get 86 million

Hope it helps
