The answer would be D because we use the Pythagorean theorem (A^2 + B^2 = C^2) to solve these kinds of problems. A=yz B=xd C=sqrt(A^2 + B^2). C=20

use pythagorean theorem
c2 = a2+b2
c2 = 16^2 + 12^2
c2 = 256 + 144
c2 = 400
c = 20
