If the atomic number of carbon is 6 how many protons does the carbon atom have ?

the atomic number in other words means proton number, therefore if the atomic number is 6 the proton number is also 6

The atomic number of an element details how many protons the element has.
For example, oxygen has an atomic number of 8. This means oxygen has ~8 protons.
Since carbon has an atomic number of 6, it has 6 protons.
