The answer is D; 'Happens when a species or population dies out". An extinction is when every single organism of s certain species dies or is killed, meaning that the species can never return or repopulate, as there are no remaining living individuals.
Answer C is also technically correct, but answer D is a better choice. Answers A and B are false statements.
