Poetry is the writing type that I think best communicates an idea or topic. It is better at communicating an idea or topic because it is more descriptive than drama. Poetry can use hyperbole and other types of words to give good imagery to the topic. Drama does not get as descriptive because it just has actors and actresses talking and not really describing much even though there are stage directions. In poetry, each line and the way that the line is written through meter and rhyme expresses how the poet feels about the topic and the reader can see the poet's personality. This does not happen in drama because the conversation just moves from one character to the next without truly showing the writer's personality and feelings on the topic.

In drama, the audience can only watch the actions and outward displays of emotion of a character. However, in poetry, the audience is able to see directly into the author's mind and fully grasp their meaning. It is clear that poetry is the more direct, moving, and effective way to communicate.
