Neonatal Respiratory Distress Syndrome is an insufficient production of pulmonary surfactant and immaturity in the lungs of an infant. Since in the problem, the infant was already given a supplemental oxygen so that there will be a continous airway pressure, the nurse should make sure that the intravenous fluid will be able to stabilize the blood sugar, salts, and pressure of the baby.
