k = natural log (.5) / Half-Life
0.124 = .693147 / Half-Life
Half-Life = .693147 / 0.124
Half-Life = 5.5898951613 days

Answer:

Half life of sample = 5.59 days

Explanation:

We have the equation for half life

t_(1)/(2)=(ln2)/(k)

Here decay constant k = 0.124

Substituting

t_(1)/(2)=(ln2)/(0.124)=5.59\boldsymbol{\texttt{ days}}
