Austin is comparing the prices of two car rental companies.

Company A charges $24 per day and an additional $25 as service charges.

Company B charges $22 per day and an additional $40 as service charges.

Part A: Write an equation to represent each company's total charges for renting a car for a certain number of days. For both equations (one for Company A and one for Company B), define the variable used. (4 points)

Part B: Which company would charge less for renting a car for 4 days? Justify your answer. (3 points)

Part C: How much money is saved by using the services of Company A instead of Company B to rent a car for 6 days? (3 points)

Part A: Company A: y= 24d + 25

Company B: y = 22d + 40. (variable d = time in days) (y = cost)

Part B: Company A: y = 24(4) + 25

y= 96 + 25

y= $ 121

Company B: y = 22(4) + 40

y = 88 + 40

y = $ 128

Therefore, Company A charges $7 dollars cheaper than Company B.

Part C: Company A: y = 22(6) + 40

y = 144 + 29

y = $169

Company B: y = 22(6) + 40

y = 132 + 40

y = $172

172 - 169 = $3. You will save $3.00

Hope this helps...
