Calculate the number of joules released when 72.5 grams of water at 95 degrees Celsius to a final temperature of 28 degrees Celsius

to find joules (heat) we use the following formula

heat= mass x specific heat x ΔT

mass= 72.5 grams
specific heat (Water)= 4.184 j/g·C
ΔT= 95 - 28= 67 °C

heat= (72.5 grams) (4.18 j/g·C) (67°C)= 20300 joules or 20.3 Kilojoules
