A red car and a blue car are traveling at the same speed x. The red car travels for 3 hours. The blue car travels for 3.5 hours and goes 25 miles farther. Write an equation that can be solved to find how fast the cars are going.

velocity = d / t
v1 = 25+x / 3.5
v2 = x / 3
x = 150
from v2 = x/3 .. 150/3
v = 50 mile/hr

1/2 hour = 25 miles.

x = 25((1)/((3.5-3)))
