The relationship between the miles and the total cost is, for every 1 mile at the cost of $.40 you will have to pay an initial fee of $1.75.

The charge for a one-mile drive is $2.15 (C=.40*1+1.75)

The charge for a 2.7 mile ride will be $2.83 (C=.40*2.7+1.75)
