Do you think that if the United States had the opportunity to take over other countries today that we would do so? Explain why you think the U.S. should or should not.

no, for two reasons.

1) this generation doesn't have the mindset for it and have been raised a bit "weaker" and "softer" than before.

2) the country might be a neighboring one that helps us in war.

No, I do not think the United States would annex another country if they were able to do so.  They could cause a possible World War, and they would divide the US even further due to political opinions.  Not to mention the independence movements-that would cause a lot of damage.
