Find the lateral area of the cone in terms of pi. The radius is 22 in and the height is 26 in. Options are A) 572 pi in^2, B) 276 pi in^2, C) 196 pi in^2, D) 286 pi in^2.

The formula for LA is
\pi (radius*slant height). Right now we only know the height but we need to know the slant height so we can set up a triangle inside the cone (look at attached image). The slant height is the hypotenuse. Solving for it we get
2 √(290). Now we can plug everything we have into the formula:
\pi (22*2 √(290) ). This means LA is
44 \pi √(290) but that's not one of the options even if i turn it into a decimal so recheck my work but I'm pretty sure this is the answer.
