This is the concept of scale factors, if figure 1 was dilated to figure 2 the scale factor was given by;
scale factor=[length of figure 2]/[length of figure 1]
length of figure 1=18
length of figure 2 =3
thus;
The scale factor of the dilation will be:
3/18
=1/6
