The appropriate response is activation-synthesis. The Activation-Synthesis Hypothesis is a neurobiological hypothesis of dreams. To start with proposed by Harvard University therapists John Allan Hobson and Robert McCarley in 1977, the theory recommends that fantasies are made by changes in neuron movement that actuates the brainstem amid REM rest.
