We are given the equation of 15 = 18 - n

Lets take this step by step. (our goal should be to isolate n to be alone)

15 = 18 - n (lets first subtract 18 from both sides.)

-18 = -18 (now lets see what we have once we solve)

- 3 = - n ( now the 18 on the right side canceled out and we don't have n alone

********** yet, since we have a negative sign that means theres a 1 there! -> -1n

- 3 = -1n ( lets divide both sides by -1)

÷-1 = ÷-1 ( the -1 cancels out on the right hand side and we solve on the left!)

3 = n ( we have n alone! )

we are given the equation of 5 = 15 ÷ n

Lets take this step by step (our goal is to isolate n to be alone)

5 = 15 ÷ n (lets multiply both sides by n)

×n = ×n ( now lets see what we have)

5n = 15 (now we divide both sides by 5 to get n alone)

÷5 = ÷5 ( now we solve!)

n = 3 ( we have n alone!)
