We are given
x^(2) = 100

The first step is to get rid of the square. Which is the small 2.

We can do this by finding the radical of both sides.


x^(2) = 100


√(x^2) = √(100)

Now the radical on the left side gets rid of the square root of two.

So now it looks like this.

x = [tex] \sqrt{100}

x = 10
