a gas evolved during the fermentation of glucose has a volume of 0.78L at 20.1C and 1 atm. What is the volume of this gas if the temperature changes to 40C and 1.2 atm?

To do this, you need to use the combined gas law

(P1)(V1) / T(1) = (P2) (V2) / 2

For temperature, convert to Kelvins
T1= 20.1C + 273
T1= 293.1 K

T2= 40 +273
T2= 313 K

Now sub the numbers into the formula

(1) (0.78) / 293.1 = (1.2) (V2) / 313

0.00266 = 1.2(V2) / 313
0.833 = 1.2(v2)

V2= 0.69 L is the new volume
