The definition of an acute angle is one where the angle measurement, obtained by looking at the measure between 2 legs or terminals in a quadrant would be one where the angle measure is less than 90 degrees, anywhere from 0 - 90 not including 90 would be an acute angle.

In this case, it would be A. 40 degrees.

A ) 40° because an acute angle is less than a 90° angle.. so on a protractor it should be more than 0° but less than 90°.
