From the given table the scores of team 1 are

1, 6, 12, 14, 18, 23, 26, 29

Divide the data in two equal parts.

(1, 6, 12, 14), (18, 23, 26, 29)

The median of team 1 is the midpoint of 14 and 18.


(14+18)/(2)=16

The median for team 1 is 16.

From the given table the scores of team 2 are

3, 7, 14, 16, 18, 19, 25, 27

Divide the data in two equal parts.

(3, 7, 14, 16), (18, 19, 25, 27)

The median of team 2 is the midpoint of 16 and 18.


(16+18)/(2)=17

The median for team 2 is 17.

Therefore option B is correct.
