What is the value of x, when 10(x + 2) = 5(x + 8)?

A) x = 1
B)x = 2
C)x = 4
D) x = 5/6

X= 4
10(x+2)=5(x+8)
Distribute 10 throughout the parenthesis and then distribute 5 in the parenthesis.
10x+20=5x+40
Move the constant to the right and bring the variable to the left. (change signs for both.Collect the terms and subtract the numbers
5x=20
Divide both sides of the equation by 5
x=4
