What is the value of x in the equation 6(x + 1) – 5x = 8 + 2(x – 1)

6(x+1) - 5x = 8 + 2(x-1)

6x + 6 - 5x = 8 + 2x - 2

x + 6 = 6 + 2x
-x -x

6 = 6 + x
-6 -6

0 = x
