x = -15

m = -3

Explanation:

3x + 6 = x - 24

subtract the x from both sides to make the unknown variable on only one side of the equation

2x + 6 = -24

subtract the 6 from both sides to focus on the x

2x = -30

now divide both sides by 2 to get the x by itself

x = -15

that's your answer

10 - 2m = 16

subtract the 10 from both sides to focus on the m

-2m = 6

now divide both sides by -2 to get the m by itself

m = -3

that's your answer
