42 = 18t + 4(t + 5)
Simplify the right side of the equation.
42 = 18t + 4t + 20
Subtract 20 from both sides.
42 - 20 = 18t + 4t
Simplify.
22 = 22t
Divide both sides by 22.
t = 1
