Benny Leroy Kern
Benny Leroy Kern was a land-based traveler who used wagons and became famous for his expeditions, even making feature films. Kern has traveled the western land trails for over fifty years.
In 1993, the leader of the Oregon Trail, spent six months traveling 3,000 miles from Independence, Missouri, to Independence, Oregon. In 1997 he followed the Mormon Trail from Nauvoo, Illinois to Salt Lake City. He died in 2017.
