i.e.


(F_1)/(F_2)=(a_1)/(a_2) ...(1)

We have,

F₁ = 40 N, a₁ = 10 m/s², a₂ = 6 m/s₂, F₂ =?

Put all the values in equation (1).


F_2=(F_1a_2)/(a_1)\\\\F_2=(40* 6)/(10)\\\\F_2=24\ N

So, the new force becomes 24 N.
