Oh i love this story
Johnny and Ponyboy got wrapped up in a murder case, and Dally told them that he knows of a church for them to hide in. They hid. Then, one of the boys left a cigarette and it went on fire, burning the the whole building. When the returned to the church, there was a crowd of children, some of which who were stuck in the building. Ponyboy ran in to help, and Johnny followed suit. They managed to get all the children to safety, and Ponyboy climbed out the window. But Johnny got burnt really badly and later died from third degree burns.
