Ms. Fuller has 8/3 pies left over from her party. How can you write the number of pies she has left over as a mixed number?

So basically you would divide 8 and get the answer of 4 and 2. And you'll write 4 as a whole number and 2 as the numerator number and 3 as an denominator. 4 2/3

8/3 is an improper fraction, to make it proper you find out how many times 3 goes into 8 (which is 2). So then you have 2 and two times 3 is 6. This does not equal 8 yet so you do 8-6=2 You put this number over the denominator 3. So your final answer is 2 2/3.
