Answer : 3

Explanation: this is how i got it

I rearranged the terms :
x + 9 = - 2x + 18

subtracted 9 from both sides :

x + 9 = -2x + 18
-9 -9

simplified it :
x = -2x + 9

then add 2x to both side

x = -2x+ 9
+2x +2x

combine terms

3x = -2+9+2x

3x = 9

divide

3x = 9
/3 /3

answer: 3
