Hello,
We know that there are total 26 letters from A to Z.
P(choosing J)=1/26
Now without replacement, there are 25 letters left
We know that there are 5 total vowels: a,e,i,o,u.
P(choosing a vowel):
5/25 or 1/5
Now we have 24 letters left
P(choosing a D):
1/24
To find find the probability of choosing a vowel and then a D by multiplying 1/5 with 1/24 which equal 1/120. As a result, find the probability of choosing a vowel and then a D is 1/120. Hope it help!

The set is:
ABCDEFGHIJ
10 letters in total

there are 3 vowels

P(First pick vowel)= 3/10

So you took one out so there's nine letters left, what's the probability of choosing the d?

P(D)= 1/9

So you add them together
3/10 + 1/9 = 30/90 = 1/3
