Equation 1) 2x + y = 11
Equation 2) x - 2y = 13

Multiply all of equation 1 by 2.

1) 2(2x + y = 11)

Simplify.

1) 4x + 2y = 22
2) x - 2y = 13

Add equations with one another.

5x = 35

Divide both sides by 5.

x = 35/5

Simplify.

x = 7

Plug in 7 for x in the first equation.

2x + y = 11

2(7) + y = 11

Simplify.

14 + y = 11

Subtract 14 from both sides.

y = 11 - 14

Simplify.

y = -3

So, x = 7 and y = -3

(7, -3)

~Hope I helped!~
