Find the direction of the vector in standard position with the endpoint (8,9)

if it's on standard position, it means is "stemming" from the origin and goes up to 8,9 then

that simply means
\bf \begin{array}{llll} 8&,&9\\ \uparrow &&\uparrow \\ x&&y \end{array}\qquad \theta=tan^(-1)\left( \cfrac{y}{x} \right)\implies \theta=tan^(-1)\left( \cfrac{9}{8} \right)
