A solution is made using 29.25 g of NaCl. The resulting volume of solution is 400 mL. If we know that the molar mass for NaCl is 58.5 g/mole, what is the molarity of the sodium chloride solution?

the formula for molarity ---> molarity= mol/ Liters

400 mL= 0.400 Liters (divide ml by 1000 to get Liters)

to get the moles, we need to use the grams to convert to moles using the molar mass of the molecules

molar mass NaCl =58.5 g/ mol

29.5 g (1 mol/ 58..5 g)= 0.504 mol

molarity= 0.504 mol/ 0.400 Liters= 1.26 M
