A line has the equation x = -8 What is the equation of the line parallel to this line and going through the point, ( -3, -1 )?

a) y=3
b) x= -3
c) y= 2
d) x= 12

x=-8 is just a vertical line 8 units to the left of the origin.

So a parallel line will also be vertical and as asked it must pass through (-3,-1) so it is:

x=-3
