PLEASE HELP!!!

During the research process, Cosmo discovered information that is relevant and important to his argument, but which does not answer the research question he began his argument with.

Which identifies the best revision Cosmo can make to his research question?

A. Cosmo should revise his research question to allow him to incorporate the new information.

B. Cosmo should eliminate his original research question and write a new one.

C. Cosmo should ignore his research question since it is only useful in the beginning of the research process.

D. Cosmo should stick to his original research question and ignore the new information, which will only distract him from his focus.

In the first place, when making a research question, it should be focused on one problem only that should be answered. Making a research question is one of the first steps in the scientific method. Therefore, what is being asked is the only one should be answered and it should remain all throughout the study. In this case, what Cosmo should do is just to stick with the original question and ignore the new information since this does not provide answers to the question itself. The answer would be option D.
