Given:
Cylinder = radius 2cm ; height 4cm
graduated cylinder = radius 3cm w/ liquid

Volume of a cylinder = π r² h = 3.14 * (2cm)² * 4cm = 50.24 cm³

Volume of a cylinder = Volume of the graduated cylinder
50.24 cm³ = 3.14 * (3cm)² * h
50.24 cm³ = 28.26 cm² * h
50.24 cm³ / 28.26 cm² = h
1.78 cm = h

The liquid rises by 1.78 cm in the graduated cylinder.
